Luena - Tourists of different nationalities, aboard the luxurious Rovos Rail train, highlighted, this Sunday, in Luena, eastern Province of Moxico, the political and social stability prevailing in Angola.

In Angola since this Saturday, aboard the luxurious Rovos Rail train, to explore the natural beauty and the Angolan cultural mosaic, the group of over 60 foreign citizens highlighted the hospitality that characterizes the Angolan people, in the two cities they passed through, especially that of Luau and Luena, from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

Following a tourist itinerary, to see some buildings and historical points in the city of Luena, the tourist director of the Rovos Rail train, Nicolas Schofield, said that compared to other geograpies, visitors find a climate of peace and stability in Angola, signs seen in the joy shown by the population.

The growth of economic life and Angolan society is also being commented on by tourists throughout the trip, said the director.

"Angolans are very friendly and have no difficulty smiling and this gives a good impression to the country's tourism industry.

Brazilian Anderson Freitas de Brito said he did not know about Angola and planned to undertake an expedition with the aim of getting to know the culture of this country, which has a strong historical connection with Brazil.

At Luau, he was enchanted by the culture of this region, and mainly the simplicity of the local population, which he considers similar to Brazil.

"The cultures are very similar, a lot of colorful fabrics are used and it is very rewarding", he said euphorically.

In the city of Luena, the first point in Angolan territory, after leaving the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), tourists were welcomed with folkloric dances, and later took a walk to some historical points in the city.

In this area, tourists walked along 1º de Maio Avenue, in the heart of Luena, heading to the Hotel Luena, a building that bears part of Luena's history, and later to the "phenomenal" Monument to Peace, a work of art that symbolizes unity among Angolans.

Tourists also visited the Cathedral and Luena movie theater, two other buildings in the city with historical facts.

In addition to the cities of Luau and Luena (Province of Moxico), the train that transports tourists continues to the provinces of Bié, Huambo and Benguela.

The locomotive with 21 carriages from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, includes, in addition to bedrooms, a kitchen, an auditorium where tourists learn about the country's history and on board more than 60 people of different nationalities, including Brazilians, Americans, Swiss, Danes and Australians.

The first trip of its kind took place between July and August 2019.
