Luanda - The success of the Angolan tourism industry depends, mainly, on the hospitality and experience lived by the travelers who visit Angola, a country with considerable tourist, natural resources and cultural wealth, the minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel, defended Tuesday, in Luanda Province.

Speaking at the training seminar on Tourist Reception, which takes place from the 23rd to the 25th of the current month in the country's capital city, the minister added that hospitality and professionalism were demonstrated in the first contact he has with tourists, from airports, ports and borders land, are crucial to creating a positive experience and encouraging tourists to return to the country, in addition to passing on a good impression to other visitors.

According to the minister, hospitality, smile, care in service and attention to detail will be the differences that will make Angola a tourist choice as a destination.

He added that the tourism sector has the initiative to promote training actions in the field of accommodation, with the aim of providing agents and other participants in the tourist reception process with permission to guarantee exemplary accommodation that respects safety, legality and value standards, well-being, respect for cultural differences and empathy.

To Márcio Daniel, officers and professionals from border post institutions are actors who play a fundamental and determining role in the tourism industry, as they are the first agents who have permanent contact with tourists.

He considered tourism as one of the most dynamic and prosperous global industries as it promotes cultural exchange and a crucial pillar for the economic and social growth of nations.

The government official recalled that the Tourism Promotion Plan (PLANATUR 2024-2027) set five priorities for the sector with emphasis on the training of tourism professionals, which provides for technical training actions aimed at direct and indirect actors and agents in the tourist reception chain.

The training seminar in Tourist Reception is aimed at reception agents and other participants in the tourist support process, in order to guarantee a high level of skills and contribute to increasing the tourist flow and positively projecting the image of Angola as a tourist destination of excellence.

The training initiative that is part of the Tourism World Day celebrations to be marked on September 27, is linked to the first objective defined in the PLANATUR, with the aim to develop actions for technical-vocational training in the area of tourism and hospitality.

The central event of World Tourism Day in Angola will take place in the southern Huíla Province and will include several hotel openings, excursions, tourist itineraries, workshops, webinars and cultural moments.

This year, the celebration has the motto “Tourism and Peace”, in an initiative of the World Tourism Organization.
