Malanje – At least 24,132 national and foreign tourists visited Malanje from 2023 to the present date, the director of the provincial office of culture, tourism, youth and sports, Veloso Dala, revealed Wednesday in Malanje Province.
Leading the list of most visited points are Calandula Falls, Pungo a Ndongo Black Stones and Cuanza Rapids respectively in the municipalities of Calandula, Cacuso and Cangandala.
Veloso Dala, who spoke on the topic "Tourist Potentialities of Malanje", at the First Forum for Attracting Partners and Investors for Malanje (FOCAPIM), said that the province currently has 45 units for accommodation of tourists, including hotels, guesthouses, inns, motels, inns and tourist complexes, totaling 892 rooms and 76 beds, numbers far below what is desired to cope with the flow of day trippers.
In this regard, he called for private investment in this segment, taking into account the advantages available, namely tax incentives under the new legal framework for the sector, visa exemptions for 98 countries, the simplification of administrative procedures, along with the existence of trained young staff in the area.
Malanje also has other tourist charms, with emphasis on the table of Queen Njinga Mbande, in the commune of Cuale, the Bem Casado Falls, in Cambundi Catembo, São Francisco, in Massango, Quedas de Musselege, Mbango a Nzenza and Maxatalando, in Calandula, as well as the Kadiheke Waterfalls, located ten kilometers from the municipal headquarters of Quela.
In addition to the province's tourist and agricultural potential, issues related to the reality of the industrial sector, the legal framework for foreign investment, creating conditions for attracting investment and financing economic and social projects relevant to the region are being debated.
The First Forum for Recruiting Partners and Investors for Malanje (FOCAPIM) brings together businesspeople from Angola, Brazil, Portugal, the United States and France, representatives of diplomatic missions, United Nations Agencies, Chambers of Commerce, academics and other guests in Malanje.
The event scheduled to end today, aims to present economic potential to national and foreign investors, create premises for attracting investments and financing economic and social projects relevant to the region.
