Lobito - An international conference on the Ecology of Artificial Intelligence was held today, Friday, in the municipality of Catumbela (Benguela), due to the interest expressed by many state, private and academic institutions, ANGOP learned.
The event, promoted by the Benguela's Superior Catholic Polytechnic Institute (ISPOCAB), brought together researchers and students to debate, explain and share experiences about certain artificial intelligence phenomena.
According to the speaker, Isaac Sassoma, these phenomena act to reproduce human-like behavior patterns, through devices and computer programs.
"This also makes it possible to install a process on languages and cultures, obtaining a socio-critical ethno-linguistic awareness of African realities through research and scientific investigation", he stated.
To this end, Professor Michele Kettemaier, of Italian origin, contemporary expert in AI, author and designer of culture and digital innovation, was invited, who made some considerations on the topic via audio-visual means.
On the other hand, the ISPOCAB director, Father Adriano Ukwatchali, considered that in AI it has been seen that the algorithmic language needs to be controlled.
"There is an evolution in the human process that, practically, if no markers are placed, the human being could probably be surpassed by what he himself created" he stated.
He added that the literary work of Father Bonifácio Tchimboto, on languages and cultures, was included in the program, launched today, as it has a close connection with artificial intelligence.
Father Zeferino Capoco, vice-president for the scientific area, said that ISPOCAB already has a tradition of promoting the cultivation of science, research and academic debate.
"There is always room for diverse themes with a view to bringing together people from different backgrounds in different areas of knowledge.
ISPOCAB teaches courses in Industrial Management Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Political Sciences and International Affairs, Accounting and Administration, Law and Social Communication.
