Lubango - The First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, expressed, on Thursday, satisfaction with the results achieved by the community of Toco, in Lubango, province of Huíla, in the implementation of a family farming project by the “Ngana Zenza” Foundation (FNZ).
Ana Dias Lourenço was speaking during a few hours' visit to Huíla, to assess the progress of the FNZ Sustainable Community Development pilot project, which covers five villages in the Toco sector, 30 kilometers away from Lubango.
She said that was satisfied with the results obtained by families with the incentives provided by the Foundation, a year ago, for the implementation of family farming.
After delivering some agricultural equipment to the families, the FNZ president also explained that one of the purposes of her Foundation is to work with communities in an integrated way, to create value, based on sustainability.
The agricultural material delivered to families includes five cultivator motorbikes, an equal number of crumblers, fertilizers and working tools such as hoes and machetes.
The Sustainable Community Development pilot project focuses on family farming and, according to the First Lady, the results 'are there for everyone to see, with extensive agricultural fields already cultivated'.
'In November (2023) I left here very sad, because we had left some resources in February, which had not been used', he recalled, noting that, after analysis, the Foundation decided to open a project implementation unit.
He was happy that this decision improved the implementation of the project and that the beneficiaries are now practicing the agriculture that will sustain them, as 'they are satisfied and more hopeful'. MS/DOJ
