Luanda - The minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women Faustina Alves said Tuesday that the implementation of the National Social Action Policy marks the transition from social assistance actions to a model of social intervention, based on the promotion and family development.
Recently approved by Presidential Decree No. 37/21 of 8 February, the National Social Action Policy is a guiding instrument, with theoretical and methodological basis for an Integrated Platform of the National Social Action System.
The idea is to guarantee vulnerable individuals and households access to basic social services, the implementation of their rights, the reduction of risks and their negative effects.
The minister, who was speaking at the opening of the First day of the Multi-sector Meeting on the National Policy for Social Action, organised by MASFAMU, ILO (International Labor Organization) and Unicef, added that the plan aims at strengthening the skills of the individual, families and communities, with a view to achieving autonomy and resilience, in the face of social risk.
As for the meeting, she said that it will also serve to analyse the different actors involved in the various modalities of providing social support, temporary or permanent, to people in situations of vulnerability, with a view to forming a national Social Action System in the parents.
In order for everything to be materialised, the minister emphasized the creation of a platform that will manage and control social action, in order to reduce bureaucracy and facilitate citizens' access to services and, in this way, avoid duplication of beneficiaries.
