Luanda - More than 80 people entered the Angolan labor market for the first time in 2024, said the minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues Dias.

In 2023, a total of 93,740 citizens were employed through employment centers and private placement agencies.

The minister disclosed the figures during the balance of activities carried out in 2024 and the outlook for 2025, pointing out that of this number, 9,549 were employed by employment centers, 70,510 by companies and 972 by private placement agencies.

During this period, the Technical Group for the Treatment of Numerical Data for the Employment Market (GTME) found that 213,483 jobs were created administratively.

"In order to make it easier for our young people to enter the job market, during the year protocols were signed with companies to provide professional internships, which allowed 3,612 young people to benefit from them," said the Minister.

As part of the implementation of the Active Employment Policy, 261 people were supported with micro-credits and professional kits to support the creation of small businesses, in a total of 251 kits.

"The data entry platforms for employment and vocational training are operational," said the Minister.

In terms of training, Teresa Dias recalled the inauguration of two vocational training units, CINFOTEC Huambo and the Rural Training and Craft School in the province of Cuanza Norte.

According to the minister, at least 112,336 people have been trained this year in the 1,801 training units of the National Vocational Training System, of which 161 are under the supervision of the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP).

The minister pointed out that with the participation of the private sector, the training capacity of the National Vocational Training System has increased from 1,645 units in 2023 to 1,872 units this year, an increase of 227 units, representing a growth of 14 percent.
