Luanda - A building with 112 apartments was handed over this Monday to the National Youth Council (CNJ) by the National Housing Institute (INH), within the scope of the Angolan Executive's housing development programme.
Located in the Vida Pacífica Urbanization Project, in the Municipality of Viana, in Luanda, the building is part of the resumption of housing distribution in this city, after three years of interruption due to vandalism of the houses.
The houses in question are part of eight buildings, totaling 869 apartments, which had been vandalized in 2019, during seizure by the National Service for the Recovery of Assets, of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), and which received works of building maintenance, technical networks of water, electricity and drainage.
On the occasion, the vice president of the CNJ, Sebastião Maurício, said that it was a long-awaited act that demonstrates the government's willingness to meet the needs of young people.
According to him, the houses will be handed over to their owners from today, and everyone will be oriented to preserve this acquisition.
Sebastião Maurício added that the CNJ will continue to wait for more housing, and therefore appeals to young people to believe in the efforts of the Angolan government.
In this urbanization project, which already has been targeted by vandalism actions, 21buildings are being rehabilitated - of these 10 are of T3 typology, which were assigned to the National Youth Council (CNJ) and 11 T4-type buildings will be available to the public after completion of the works.
Vida Pacifica consists of the development of a new urbanization for the Zango I region, where 2,464 dwellings were designed, spread over 22 buildings.
