Luanda - An agreement to create a food distribution network, to cater for the most needy families and communities, was signed this Wednesday, in Luanda, between Carrinho group, the Catholic Church and Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World (Tocoísta).
The memorandum is aimed to distribute tons of various goods, within the framework of this group's social responsibility, in line with the implementation of a food recovery program.
According to Carrinho's non-executive administrator, Samuel Candundo, while the group operates in the food trade sector, it will grant products to partners for distribution, as a way of meeting the needs of needy families.
In turn, the president of Cáritas de Angola, Bishop Estanislau Tchindecasse, praised the initiative of companies with this social conscience, having said that the offer will not overcome the difficulties, but rather minimize them.
According to the prelate, the number of people who go hungry and request benevolent gestures has increased alarmingly, so there is no way to remain insensitive or indifferent to the reality of others.
For his part, the auxiliary Bishop and executive secretary of the Tocoista Church, João David, said it was the gesture of a company that does not only look after profits, but for the well-being of the communities.
For him, all investors should follow this example effectively.
He noted that the action is an addition to what the church has done for the well-being of vulnerable populations.
He clarified that the funds will be channeled to the residents of Kilamba Kiaxi and Quissama.
