Luanda - The Luanda Province Government (GPL) on Monday decreed a total stoppage of work for the 3rd and 4th of the current month (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the country's capital, as part of the visit of the President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, to Angola.
As from Monday, Joe Biden begins a three-day visit to Angola, at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, with the aim of strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
According to a note to which Angop had access, the two days without work also includes the private sector. However, there is exception for shift work, which must operate under its normal regime.
The provincial government’s note also explains that the measure is justified “due to the importance of the arrival of various personalities of the highest political and economic importance in the world”, who will carry out an intense working journey in different parts of the city of Luanda.
The main highlight of the visit program is the meeting that Joe Biden will have with the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, where they will analyze the future strategy of bilateral cooperation relations.
