Cuito - The governor of Bié, Pereira Alfredo, highlighted today, in Cuito, the enterprising spirit of the local youths, which has contributed to reduce unemployment in he province.
Speaking at the event that marked the festivities of the Angola Youth Day, celebrated today, the governor said it was necessary that this fringe continues to fight for their welfare and to ally themselves more and more to Government programmes, especially those directed to the youths.
He appealed to them to continue being resilient and proactive, capable of transforming the problems that afflict them into a safe and lasting solution.
Figures from the Provincial Office of Tourism, Youth and Sports of Bié indicate that about 6,704 young people benefited from direct employment through PRODESI, and another 216 received promotional kits for the promotion of self-employment in the areas of agro-mechanics.
Seventeen youth cooperatives with a total of 802 members were also created, which are funded by MOSAP II and other partners.
