Saurimo – More than 500 members from the Pentecostal God's Assembly church marched, Saturday, in Saurimo (Lunda-Sul), to discourage domestic violence in families.
The activity brought together church believers, members of the Government, civil society and youth associations, who shouted calling for non-domestic violence.
Speaking to the press, the provincial director of Youth at the Pentecostal church, Alexandre Matamba, stated that carrying it out aims to discourage the practice of domestic violence in families, which has led to their disruption and, consequently, the existence of children on the streets.
He added that the church, as a partner of the State, has a social responsibility to raise awareness in society, in order to guide responsible conduct.
For his part, the director of the provincial Office of Culture, Tourism and Youth and Sports in Lunda-Sul, Nelson Muiuca, said that the initiative is good, as similar gestures contribute to the reduction of domestic violence and other evils within families.
He said that the Church plays a leading role in moralizing society and uniting families. EM/JW/ART/CF/DOJ
