Caxito - The Secretary of State for Youth, Francisco Boaventura Chitapa, reiterated Monday in Caxito, Bengo province, the government’s commitment to continuing to implement social, political and economic development programs that benefit young people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "April Youth" day, the official stressed that the day represents a privileged moment to recognize the role of young people as a driving force in society.
"As well as looking at the challenges and aspirations of young people, the day will seek to instill in young people the highest values of the nation such as patriotism, humanism, respect for the organs of sovereignty, the valorization of national symbols, the preservation of peace and national unity," he said.
According to the official, the day aims to promote young people's technical skills, their socio-economic integration, and to encourage community development through actions promoting entrepreneurship, technical and professional training and fostering self-employment.
Running until April 30, the April Youth Day aims to mobilize young people to assess the degree of implementation of the public youth policies adopted by the Angolan government.
The main event was marked by the presentation of the Strategic Plan for the Integral Development of Youth 2023/2027, for the collection of contributions. FS/IF/TED/AMP
