Ndalatando - Two children from the same family died, in Dondo, municipality of Cambambe (Cuanza-Norte), victims of drowning in a water tank, the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the Protection Service Civil and Firefighters, Hélder Milagre, reported on Wednesday, in Ndalatando.
These are the minors Jonas Quissanga and Edvânio Quissanga, both aged five, who lived with their grandparents.
The tragedy occurred on Tuesday, in the Cacesse neighborhood, when the minors tried to swim in an open and unfinished water tank that was under construction in a neighbor's backyard.
The bodies of the victims were removed from the scene and deposited in the morgue of the municipal hospital.
The owner of the residence where the children drowned, identified as Domingas de Almeida, has already been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), accused of the crime of negligent homicide.
Since January, the province has registered nine cases of drowning, this being the first in a water tank. DS/IMA/OHA/CF/DOJ
