Luena - The members of the Provincial Council of Road Transports and Traffic Planning in Moxico reiterate, on Saturday, in Luena, the appeal for the recovery of roads to reduce accidents in the region.
This year, more than 50 people died as a result of road accidents in the province of Moxico, as a result of 437 accidents, which caused injuries to 572 people.
During the meeting of the Provincial Council, chaired by the vice-governor, for the technical sector and infrastructures, Wilson Augusto, the members defended an intervention in secondary and tertiary road infrastructures.
The members also recommended the asphalting of the roads that connect the local municipal headquarters, improvement of lighting on public roads, as well as the replacement of vertical and horizontal signs to reduce accidents.
The Council also proposed the continuation of training actions aimed at motorcycle taxi drivers, on driving knowledge, 'as they are responsible for the largest number of accidents that occur in the province'.
This year, administratively, the municipality of Moxico (capital of the province) is the region with the most recorded accidents, with 324 cases, followed by Luau (62) and Bundas with 17.
