Sumbe - The Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) made available four billion kwanzas for the rehabilitation and extension of the water system in Gabela city, Cuanza Sul province, which will increase from 100 to 1,800 cubic meters, ANGOP learned on Thursday.
The contract, which is awaiting award, aims to design/build the water supply to the city of Gabela, including the work corresponding to the preparation of the implementation project, construction of the catchment from the river Chilo on a 25-kilometre stretch.
It is also part of the works, already carried over to public procurement for which are competing eight contractors, the supply and execution of the gravitational pipeline to the current Water Treatment Plant (WTP), its extension and rehabilitation of the distribution network.
The director of the provincial office for technical services and infrastructure, Heitor Alfredo, who revealed the figures, said that the municipality of Amboim has the most budget available, totalling 5.3 billion kwanzas.
PIIM work for Cuanza Sul province is estimated at 35.2 billion kwanzas.
