Huambo - At least 2,358 people have already been vaccinated against Covid-19, in Huambo province, in the first days of the campaign that began last Wednesday.
For this region of the central plateau, with a population of 2.5 million, 38,000 doses were available for the first phase of the campaign, with 208 technicians involved in vaccinating people from the risk groups.
According to the provincial supervisor of the campaign in Huambo, Isaac André Cassenje, who was speaking to ANGOP, the vaccination campaign is giving priority to health technicians, teachers, the elderly, personnel of the Angolan Armed Forces and the National Police.
He said that the level of organisation of the teams and the mobilisation of the target groups are contributing significantly to the massive adherence of the citizens to the only vaccination post, considering as positive the balance of the first two days of the campaign in the province.
The source added that there is more and more interest of the citizens in getting the vaccine, due to the high awareness about its importance in the protection against the disease, in order to avoid loss of human lives.
