Luanda - The Social Policy Commission of Cabinet Council assessed on Tuesday in Luanda several documents related to the education sector, with emphasis on the legal regime of the preschool subsystem.
During the meeting chaired by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Dalva Ringote, the members outlined a set of principles and rules that govern the organisation, operation, control, supervision and inspection of educational institutions.
Speaking to the press, the minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, mentioned among the institutions kindergartens, nurseries and community centers for children from three months to five years.
The document also aims to achieve a preschool education system of the highest quality at the national level.
The achievement of this objective includes development and implementation of quality criteria compatible with international best practices, as well as to stimulate the intellectual development of the child, through the affective, civic, social and cognitive psychomotor domains.
The Commission also reviewed the draft presidential decree establishing the National Council for Education and Teaching (CNEDE), after recommending a more in-depth study on the main issues and existing models at the regional level, for further review of the document.
The meeting's agenda also included analysis of the draft Presidential Decree that creates the Public-Private Dialogue Mechanism for Technical Education and Vocational Training, aimed to ensure participation in the definition and monitoring of technical education policies and of professional training.
