Malanje- At least three people died and one seriously injured, after a Luanda Railway (CFL) freight train collided with a Toyota Carina II car early Saturday morning, in the Vila Matilde neighborhood, northern Malanje province.
The accident occurred when the car, with four people, was trying to cross an unguarded level crossing and was dragged a distance of 400 meters, causing the immediate death of the driver and two passengers.
According to the director of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) spokesperson, Junqueira António, the only survivor is receiving assistance at a local general hospital.
The police officer urged motorists, motorcyclists and pedestrians to observe safety measures at level crossings with or without guards, to avoid driving within 15 meters of the railway line and to avoid loud music. ACC/PBC/TED/AMP
