Luanda - National Youth Council (CNJ) president, Isaías Kalunga, on Wednesday in Luanda, considered the Executive's strategy to materialize the national youth policy in the housing segment to be assertive.

This strategy guarantees youth access to housing, and the State is responsible for developing creative solutions to respond to the growing housing demand.

Isaías Kalunga was speaking to ANGOP about the presentation of the strategy, held at the seminar on urbanism and housing that takes place from Wednesday to Thursday, in an initiative of the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing.

According to the official, this policy contributes to the promotion of the well-being of Angolan youth.

Isaías Kalunga spoke about the sustainable development of cities and the socio-economic well-being of communities, themes that are also at the heart of the seminar.

In this vein, the president of the CNJ reinforced the importance of policies that promote the prosperity of families and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens.

He said that young people need decent housing, built in centralities or in other urbanizations.

“We are happy that the Ministry continues to think about the construction of projects of this kind, with young people at the epicenter of its discussions”, he stressed.

Isaías Kalunga also welcomed the bet on the massification of projects aimed at self-construction aimed at young people, in areas with basic infrastructures implemented.

The seminar brings together members of the central government, provincial governors, municipal administrators, among other entities.

It addresses topics such as “the new urban agenda in the context of Africa”, 'the importance of spatial planning instruments in the process of urbanism and housing”, 'the management of cities and human settlements” and “The operationalization of the directed self-construction project”.
