Malanje - A 39-year-old man was beaten to death, Monday (27), by three citizens, in the Cahala neighborhood, in the city of Malanje, when he was mistaken for the rapist of a 14-year-old girl.
The offenders, aged between 17 and 30, came across the alleged rapist on the public road and started the aggression with blunt objects, causing him serious injuries to the head.
The victim died few hours later at the Hospital in the Maxinde neighborhood, where he was rescued.
The information was given to ANGOP today by the spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Alexandre Cambolo, noting that, in an attempt to take justice into their own hands, those involved committed the murder and upon noticing that the victim was strange, they fled.
He explained that after some diligence, they were found and detained on the same day by the SIC and will respond for the crime of qualified homicide before the Public Prosecutor's Office.
According to the police officer, the victim of the sexual rape that allegedly happened on the 21st of this month is unknown, however, investigations continue in order to ascertain the veracity of the facts.
