Mbanza Kongo – The Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA), on Saturday in Mbanza Kongo, Zaire Province, repudiated the acts of sexual violence and physical aggression against women that take place throughout the country.
Maria Luzolo Nsimba, a member of CICA, said during a service in memory of all the women who have died in recent months victims of physical and sexual aggression in Angola.
Maria Nsimba urged for dialogue between couples and other members of the society as the only way to resolve any differences that may arise in the community.
The religious leader also disapproved of the behavior of some women who, due to alleged difficulties of various kinds, turn to prostitution, putting their lives and the lives of their partners at risk.
She advised them to focus more on academic and professional training in order to achieve their goals.
"We must achieve our goals with sacrifice and honesty and not through paths that can lead us to misfortune", Nsimba said.
Maria Luzolo Nsimba encouraged the Angolan government to continue with the reforms underway in the country, with the implementation of more programs aimed at women.
