Luanda - The Angolan Federation of Former Combatants and Homeland Veterans (FACVPA) presented Friday, in Luanda, its concerns regarding the non elevation to public utility status, to the 2nd Commission of Defence, Security, Internal Order, Former Combatants and Homeland Veterans of the National Assembly.

The concerns presented by the Chairman of the Federation´s Board of Directors, Ludgério Pelinganga, during a working visito of the MPs from the 2nd Commission of the National Assembly, which is headed by the deputy  Ruth Mendes.

At the time, the parliamentarians also learned about the lack of facilities for the operation of the association, due to the precariousness of the premises where it operates.

During the meeting, the need to create an integrated model of economic and social promotion of former Combatants and Veterans of the homeland and their families was also addressed.

This model is based on the creation of projects such as the allocation of plots of land for agricultural activity, as well as economic support for the creation of small businesses.

On his turn, the chairwoman of the 2nd Commission of the National Assembly, Ruth Mendes, said that the deputies will take the concerns to the government for the evaluation of the Law of Former Combatants and its adaptation to current realities, the improvement of subsidies, as well as the elevation of the federation to the status of public utility, in order to enable it to function better.

The Angolan Federation of Former Combatants and Homeland Veterans (FACVPA, is made up of patriots from the three movements that were involved in the armed struggle for Angola´s independence.
