Luanda - An Angolan delegation headed by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionisio da Fonseca, participates in the 1st International Summit of all the Americas, which takes place in San Antonio, in the United States of America.
According to a note sent to ANGOP today, at the meeting, participants are addressing, among other issues, collaboration opportunities, international best practices on town twinning and business potential.
It is also analyzing innovative and sustainable models of cooperation between cities, with a focus on the economy, global challenges and cultural diplomacy. The meeting is intended to be a platform for sharing and discussing the historical and cultural legacy of the African diaspora throughout the Americas, from Canada to Chile.
On the sidelines of the event, an assessment will be made of the state of implementation of the Twinning Agreement in force between Luanda and the city of Houston.
Similarly, other twinning opportunities between Angola and US cities will be explored, namely Cabinda with Lafayette and Malanje with Hampton, in the state of Virginia.
The Angolan delegation to the event includes the governors of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, and Malanje, Marcos Nhunga, the deputy governors of Luanda for the political and social sector, Manuel Gonçalves, and of Cabinda for infrastructure and technical services, Agostinho da Silva, among other officials.JAM/MCN/AMP
