Luanda - A workshop on trafficking in human beings (THB) is to be held on Tuesday, in Luanda Province, to discuss, among other things, the protection and comprehensive care of victims of trafficking in the health service.
According to a press release, the event will be organised by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, with the aim of training health professionals in identifying victims and their specific needs.
The work will be led by the secretary of State for Human Rights and Citizenship, Ana Celeste Januário, in the presence of the secretary of State for Public Health, Carlos Alberto Pinto de Sousa, and the Director General of the Jesuit Refugee Services, Luamonazo Mário Panda.
The forum is aimed at combating trafficking in human beings and assisting victims in Angola, strengthening the functioning of the Human Trafficking Commission, as well as implementing the National Human Rights Strategy and the National Action Plan to Prevent and Combat THB.
The event is aimed at health technicians, the Interministerial Commission Against Trafficking in Human Beings, social workers and civil society organisations.
It takes place as part of the implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy and the National Action Plan to Prevent and Combat Trafficking in Human Beings (THB).
