Viana – The Kandengues Cientistas Academy on Sunday, in Luanda Province, received various technological means to support the training of children and young people in the world of technology in an initiative by the governor of the province of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha.

The resources include basic integrated circuits, a soldering iron and bibliography on artificial intelligence.

At the time, the government official expressed his interest in creating an academy of this kind in the province of Uíge, guaranteeing that he will continue to support initiatives like this, taking advantage of the goodwill of young people who carry out actions in the field of science and technology.

He added that the project also serves to encourage and awaken the creative genius of Angolan children, teenagers and young people in technological training.

In turn, the project's mentor, Pedro Paris, said that it began in 2018 with the idea of developing small laboratories at community level, due to the lack of practical components in the country's education system.

He pointed out certain areas in which children and young people from academia develop work, with emphasis on space education, the discovery of other planets, using technology, as well as renewable energy, taking energy from salt water, the construction of remotely controlled rockets, and the creation of a virtual kitchen that allows you to control the stove in the electronic area using your cell phone.

Pedro Paris said that they are developing a project related to the implementation of laboratories in schools by carrying out Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry practices in which many students have difficulties.

He explained that 60 children and young people aged between five and 30 are enrolled in the academy, as well as more than a hundred external students from the municipality of Viana who carry out fun technological work.

Pedro Paris is a mid-level Telecommunications and Electronics technician and his mission is to prepare children and young people in the field of science and technology for the mid-level professional technical level.
