Talatona – The Angolan Investment Bank (BAI) academy on Wednesday in Luanda, launched an advanced course on project management named “To Care”, with the aim to boost social sustainability across the country as an imperative for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The “To Care” course responds to the growing need for training in social management projects and serves to boost the involvement of Angolan companies in the United Nations Global Compact, as well as to reinforce the commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.

Speaking to the press, the executive administrator of BAI Academy, Kâmia Madeira, stressed that the project responds clearly and urgently to the needs, placing sustainability and social responsibility at the center of business practices in the country.

"We live in an era characterized by instability, although we believe that among the difficulties lie opportunities", she said, highlighting that the course lasts one month.

Kâmia Madeira explained that the progress made towards achieving the objectives of economic development with social and environmental sustainability has been slow.

She added that the reality is one of constant transformation, where global crises, from food security to energy, promote responsible and sustainable action.

In this sense, the head of the bank academy, said that the course also aims to provide Angolan institutions with the necessary tools to face the challenges linked to sustainable development objectives, as well as training leaders and managers to implement projects that cause social impact.

It is divided into modules and aimed at Non-Government Organization (NGO) managers, community leaders, corporate social responsibility professionals and anyone who wishes to improve their knowledge, with a view to promoting local development, corporate social inclusion and social communication practice.
