Mbanza-Kongo – Forty-three children from the province of Zaire, who suffer from different pathologies, will benefit from medical assistance in Angola and Germany reference health units.
All children were selected last weekend, in Mbanza-Kongo, after a screening that involved the Kimbo Liombembwa organization and the National Children's Institute (INAC) in the province of Zaire.
Speaking to ANGOP on Monday, the head of INAC's provincial service, Rafael Kidiwa, explained that of this number, two children aged between six and eight will be treated in Germany.
He informed that the minors, both male, will travel to that European country in October this year, due to problems with congenital malformation in the knees and Ascites.
According to the official, others with neurological, uterine, urological, dermatological complications, as well as cleft lip, sickle cell and maxillofacial issues will be treated free of charge in reference hospitals in the provinces of Benguela and Luanda.
The screening and selection included doctors from the Kimbo Liombembwa organization and the Zaire Provincial Hospital.
The partnership between the Government of Zaire and the Kimbo Liombembwa organization has existed for more than 10 years. DA/JL/CF/DOJ
