Caxito - The minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, said on Tuesday in Caxito commune that Bengo's new general hospital will be a centre for scientific research and specialised training.
The project built in the Bucula area, is 90% complete and has already begun to be equipped.
Speaking to the press at the end of a visit to the new hospital's construction site, the government official said that it is in good progress and that the civil construction and technical networks would be completed by the 15th of this month.
"Until the inauguration, which we expect to happen on November 8, all will be done to ensure that the work is finished with the desired quality," she said.
The minister said that human resources will be ensured taking people's mobility into account, especially the more senior teams, but the recruitment of professionals from Bengo and other provinces will be guaranteed.
"What I can guarantee is that the human resources for the units to be inaugurated are guaranteed," she emphasised.
Sílvia Lutucuta revealed that the government wants to focus on primary, secondary and tertiary health services, pointing out that under the Integrated Municipal Intervention Programme (PIIM), the health sector has 330 projects, of which only six are under the ministry's supervision.
Bengo's new general hospital has a budget of more than USD 60 million dollars and it is being built in a total area of 45,000 square metres.
With a capacity of 200 beds, it has 15 clinical areas which are distributed in 24 blocks (sections), 6 houses for health professionals and a haemodialysis centre which is considered a novelty.
