Caxito – A project called “Health in my neighborhood with the MPLA at heart”, which aims to carry out screenings and combat tropical diseases in communities, was launched today, in the SKS neighborhood, municipality of Dande, by the party's first provincial secretary in Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba.
Initiated by the MPLA committee in Bengo (specialty committee of militant doctors, nurses and technicians), the project aims to provide free health consultations to citizens, to guarantee the well-being of communities.
Lasting two days, the fair will be held quarterly in the six municipalities of the province, to bring health services closer to the population, especially in communities where there is a lack of basic services and have a considerable population density.
At the fair open today, technicians are providing appointments on pediatrics, high blood pressure, diabetes, stomatology, prenatal and dermatology, voluntary HIV counseling and testing, physiotherapy, clinical psychology, gynecology, medicine, minor surgery, family planning, analysis Covid-19 clinics, vaccines and tests.
In this first edition, the aim is to serve at least three thousand people, including children and adults, to hold lectures on health education, to combat and prevent certain diseases, especially those caused by lack of basic sanitation, hygiene and others.
At the opening ceremony, the first provincial secretary of the MPLA of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, stated that the fair is part of the MPLA's activity program scheduled for 2024.
