Luanda - Three hundred and 14 patients were treated at the National Ophthalmological Institute of Angola (IONA), from 24 to 25 this month, as part of a fair held during the National Week of Humanization in Health.
The National Week of Humanization in Health took place from July 22 to 27, 2024, under the motto 'Humanization: care with empathy, respect and dignity'.
According to a document to which ANGOP had access today, Monday, of the patients treated, 119 are male and 195 females, of which 260 are over 15 years old.
During the free medical visit, the pathologies diagnosed were ametropia with 130 cases, conjunctivitis (63), cataract (61), pterygium (46), pingueculitis (25), and 8 suspected cases of glaucoma.
Available data indicate that 8,000 patients with eye problems are treated monthly at the National Ophthalmological Institute of Angola (IONA), 4,000 more than the average recorded three years ago. EVC/PA/DOJ
