Viana – High blood pressure and malaria led the cases of illnesses recorded during the Community Health Fair, which took place in the district of Estalagem, municipality of Viana, along the weekend.
According to the head of the municipal health department, Pulquéria Marta, the activity, which opened on Wednesday, served more than 10 thousand patients.
He mentioned that three transfers were made to Hospital do Capalanga, highlighting that ophthalmology and stomatology consultations are the most popular due to the low coverage of these services in health units.
He guaranteed that all consultations, exams and medicines were free.
The Community Fair, which involved 250 Angolan and 11 North American health technicians, offered free consultations in general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, psychology, physiotherapy, vaccinations, gynecology, prenatal care, mental and oral health, nutrition, HIV, childcare, tuberculosis, ophthalmology and stomatology.
It took place at the FAPA camp, located on Moagem street, neighborhood of KM12, urban district of Estalagem, Luanda, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and aimed to increase the levels of coverage of health services in the municipality of Viana.
