Luanda - The National Multi-Sectorial Commission for Combat and Prevention of Covid-19 on Friday expressed concern over the population's relaxation in complying with biosecurity measures.
The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who was speaking at the Covid-19 updating session, pointed out the negative behaviour of citizens as a factor for the increase in the number of positive cases and deaths in the last two weeks.
"For two weeks now we are registering an increase in the number of cases in groups that were considered less exposed and even protected. Children and young people being affected by Covid-19," the official pointed out.
Franco Mufinda also said that many outbreaks have been registered, mainly in Luanda, caused by the new variants of the pandemic.
"The South African and English variants have a high transmission and mortality capacity. Every day there are entire families and companies with significant numbers of infected people, compared to the sad month of November 2020," he said.
