Menongue - The director of the Cuando Cubango General Hospital, Fernando Cassanga, plus four other employees of the institution, are detained on suspicion of committing crimes of embezzlement, influence peddling and undue receipt of advantages from 2020 to this year.
The confirmation was made on Monday, in Menongue, by the Prosecutor of the Republic in Cuando Cubango, Airoso Silivondela, adding that the arrest followed through public complaint that took place on different dates, dating back more than two weeks.
The detainees, who have already questioned by guarantee judge, have strong indications of having also committed crimes of economic participation in business, criminal association and money laundering.
In addition to the director of the Cuando Cubango General Hospital, confirmed the Prosecutor of the Republic in that province, the administrative director, Ernesto Jaime, the head of the accounting and finance section, Augusto Samba, the head of the accounting department and the head of the pharmacy of the reference health unit are detained.
Without going into details, the prosecutor admitted that there are also other cases involving public managers in the province of Cuando Cubango, having called for respect for public affairs, prioritizing the law above all, so that leaders carry out acts legally.
He also asked the population to avoid the dissemination of images, on social networks, linked to this ongoing process, with data that do not reflect the activity of the Attorney General's Office, much less the Criminal Investigation Service. ALK/FF/PLB/DOJ
