Luanda - Angola’s Vice President Esperança da Costa defended Thursday the improvement of teaching and learning conditions for the inclusion, in the formal national system, of students with disabilities and limitations in cognitive development.

At the end of her visit to the Special School number 1531 in the Urban District of Rangel, in Luanda, the Vice President said the institution lacks in-depth interventions, some of them related to infrastructure.

The leader also said that the Special School lacks adequate equipment for the cognitive development of students with disabilities.

"We want this school to be inclusive which cater for the so-called normal students. But the school also needs investment in terms of human resources", she underlined.

She instructed the Ministry of Education and the School's management to identify the establishment's needs, in order to increase its response capacity.

Esperança da Costa stressed the need to respond to the needs and demands of the municipality of Luanda regarding the inclusion of children with disabilities and limitations in cognitive development.

During her visit to School 9001, in the Urban District of Benfica, the Vice President recommended training and service capacity in terms of teaching technical-professional.

She reiterated the Angolan Government’s availability to increase the number of schools in the Urban District of Benfica, including those of general and technical-professional education.

In her visit to the School 42, the Vice President Esperança da Costa stressed the President João Lourenço's commitment to development and innovation in the country.

As for the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Technologies and Sciences (ISPTEC), Esperança da Costa referred to the need to boost the areas of exact sciences, supported by quality teaching. AP/KAM/FMA/AL/ADR/CF/NIC
