Luanda - The minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, visited this Saturday, in Luanda, the ChinaTown shopping center, the largest market selling various products located in the Angolan capital.

Followed by senior officials from his office, the Angolan diplomat toured, on his first visit, an expressive commercial area, with 16 aisles, housing more than 400 stores and a residential area with 29 buildings.

At the end of the visit, Téte António met with the Shopping Center managers, where support was given on running this largest Asian shopping center in Angola.

Various products are sold at the shopping center, such as construction and decoration materials, party gifts, household items, household appliances, vehicle accessories, clothing, footwear, among other goods.

The products are sold retail and wholesale and the stores are open from the early hours of the day until 3 pm.

Located within the Industrial Park of Viana, next to the Expressway and about 20 minutes from the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, the ChinaTown shopping center welcomes the majority of foreign traders, mainly Chinese, Namibians, Mauritanians, Cameroonians, Lebanese, Egyptians, among other nationalities.

In addition to the commercial, the place has areas for the processing, assembly and storage of goods.

The ChinaTown shopping center, named this morning by minister Téte António as “Angola's industrialization lab”, employs close to five five thousand Angolans and was developed by a group of Chinese businesspeople, with the aim of contributing, significantly, for the diversification of the Angolan market.

The visit was guided by the ChinaTown's CEO, Jack Huang, among other diplomats, the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin.
