Luanda - The Court of Auditors will follow the normal ritual of its work obligations, within the framework of the Constitution and the law in force in the Republic of Angola, said on Monday in Luanda, the institution's Chief Justice, Sebastião Domingos Gunza.
'Nothing is exceptional than what a court represents. Therefore, at the jurisdictional level, there is a ritual of its own that must be followed,' said Sebastião Gunza, in statements to the press, shortly after being sworn in.
President of the Republic, João Lourenço presided over the swearing-in ceremony in the Noble Hall of the Presidential Palace to the new Counsellor Judge President of the Court of Auditors, Sebastião Domingos Gunza, and to four other counsellors judges.
Sebastião Gunza stressed that, without prejudice to deadlines, the Court of Auditors will work to speed up recurring processes and improve its procedures.
“We certainly will evaluate repeatedly the processes, whenever is necessary, without prejudice to the judicial independence of each Justice, of course,” he explained.
Before the inauguration, the President of the Republic, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces, after hearing the National Security Council, granted the licensing to the retirement of Sebastião Domingos Gunza, who holds the rank of Chief Commissioner of the National Police.
