Huambo – Four thousand 477 migratory acts, between nationals and foreigners, were processed this year by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in the province of Huambo, one thousand 552 more than in the same previous period.
The information was provided to ANGOP on Wednesday by the spokeswoman for the SME in Huambo, Chief Inspector Marlene Matokissa, who explained that these migratory acts include two thousand 993 nationals (plus 1,431) and 1,484 foreigners (121 more).
Regarding foreigners, he said they were citizens of 42 nationalities, with emphasis on Mauritanian (312), Eritrean (151), Ivorian (150), Cuban (117), Vietnamese (115) and with the smallest population the Czech, with 13.
According to the official, the institution currently controls 1,450 foreigners, 483 of whom have work visas, 143 temporary stay visas, one an investor visa, 89 resident cards, 202 refugee cards, 241 declaration holders. asylum seeker receipts and 286 asylum seeker receipts.
Passport issuance
He noted that during the same period, 2,829 ordinary passports were issued, an increase of 1,552 compared to the same period last year, as well as another 41 service passports (35 more), while foreigners were given 842 different documents (38 more).
To date, Chief Inspector Marlene Matokissa added, the institution has yet to deliver 665 ordinary passports, whose issuance, according to the law, varies between 15 and 90 days.
He informed that the institution has been making telephone contacts with passport holders, with the aim of preventing them from losing their validity at the SME counter, as the measure is to persuade them to proceed with the collection.
Therefore, the official reiterated the appeal to national and foreign citizens with uncollected acts to go to the counter of the Migration and Foreigners Service in the province of Huambo or to consult, through the sme.gov.ao website.
