Luanda - The Minister of Interior, Manuel Homem, acknowledged Tuesday the need to continue improving the service provided to citizens in the administrative processes of migration.

Manuel Homem made this assessment at the inauguration of the Public Service Office of the Foreign Emigration Service (SME) in Luanda.

The minister's assessment was supported by the many complaints from users, resulting from the difficulties they face in obtaining passports and other documents, for which the competent body is responsible.

The space provided by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas "will serve to improve the service that the SME provides to citizens in general, but in particular there will be a guarantee of continuity in the quality of service to foreign employees in the oil sector, in dealing with migratory acts," said the minister.

Manuel Homem reiterated the government's commitment to continue working to improve the conditions of infrastructure and human resources of the institution for the benefit of citizens.

The reopened office complements the services that used to operate in the premises of the French oil company Total Energies, which dealt specifically with the migratory acts of the company's employees.

With the transfer to the new premises, the service is now more comprehensive, with areas for issuing ordinary and service passports, settlement, extension of ordinary and residence visas, residence permits, among others.

The infrastructure, which has 14 service areas, was rehabilitated in approximately three months. LDN/SC/TED/AMP
