Luanda - National Assembly Speaker Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos Saturday described the MP Raúl Danda as a politician committed to his country.
Raúl Danda, 63, died of disease last Saturday morning.
In his message of condolence, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos
highlighted the MP’s interventionist approach to debates in the National Assembly.
“On behalf of the MPs, Parliamentary employees and on my own, I extend condolences to the bereaved family, to whom I express my full solidarity”, reads the document.
Raúl Danda was born on November 13, 1957 in the northern province of Cabinda.
He served as Parliamentary leader of the large opposition UNITA party and vice president of this political organisation.
The late MP, who served as shadow UNITA prime minister, was a politician, journalist, teacher and writer.
