Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço, received Friday in Luanda, the Germany ambassador to Angola, Stefan Traumann, with whom he discussed issues related to bilateral ties between both countries.
Speaking at the end of the audience, the diplomat said the meeting aimed to analyze ways of strengthening cooperation in the most different areas, such as economy and investment as well as others of interest for both countries.
The diplomat highlighted the good and historic cooperation between the two nations characterized by the presence in Angola, for many years, of German companies that are part of several projects, especially in the energy sector, such as green hydrogen and the Caculo Cabaça dam.
Germany and Angola are traditional partners with projects focused on the construction of infrastructures for electricity production, pharmaceutical industry and Hospital Construction and Management.
Recently, the basic conditions for the development of the National Hydrogen Strategy in the country dominated an approach, in Luanda, between the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, and the German ambassador to Angola.
The topic has been addressed since mid-2021, in several dialogues between Angola and Germany, focused on the Energy Transition and also the opportunities that green hydrogen can offer the country.
