Lisbon - Angola’s Ombudswoman Florbela Rocha Araújo Thursday in Coimbra, Portugal, pointed out what she consider primary challenges in the territorial expansion of the Provincial Services of the Ombudsman’s Office.
Florbela Rocha Araújo mentioned, among the challenges, the understanding of the role and importance of the services by the Local State Administration Bodies
The Ombudswoman was speaking on "The Role of the Ombudsman/woman and its incidence in the Provincial Services in the protection of Human Rights", as part of the three-day International Congress on Human Rights, which takes place in Portugal.
Florbela Araújo also presented, as greater challenges, the functional framework of the institution with the implementation of the Municipalities and the Traditional Authorities as targeted entities.
She highlighted the need for interconnection with the Central Services through information and communication technologies, as well as the procedural and articulation with the Provincial Human Rights Committees.
The official added that the enlargement of Provincial Services is one of the strategic objectives for Angola, whose adopted model is in line with the dynamics of Public Administration and administrative de-concentration.
