Luanda - The Attorney General Office (PGR) demanded, this Wednesday (31), political parties to assume their responsibilities with the list delegates, who demand payment of subsidies.

In a statement, the PGR urged the complainants to resort to legal mechanisms to claim their legitimate rights, under penalty of being held accountable for the crimes to be committed in these violent demonstrations.

In recent days, delegates from the APN, FNLA, PRS and CASA-CE lists have been complaining about the payment of their allowances to the respective directorates, for the work done in the general elections on Wednesday (24).

In the document, the PGR refers to being aware of the various manifestations of discontent, accompanied by acts of vandalism by citizens who provided service as party delegates to polling stations (as supervisors).

Several disgruntled citizens, notes the PGR, lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) and the Public Prosecutor's Office, which have started investigations on the nature and responsibility of the referred acts.

The PGR, which oversees legality, also warned those political parties officials to "assume responsibly" the commitments arising from their electoral campaign.

The Attorney General Office warns that failure to comply may lead to "various accountabilities". The note states that "still in this context, it is important to remind political parties that they have the obligation to report to the competent bodies of the State on the regular use of public financial resources granted to support the electoral campaign".

Protests are registered all over the country. Following these actions,  the national headquarters of CASA-CE, in Luanda, has been vandalized by the party’s electoral list delegates who’ve demanding the payment of their subsidies.
