Huambo - Attorney General Hélder Pitta Gróz defended Tuesday the assurance of compliance with legality and respect for plurality ahead of general elections scheduled for the August 2022.
“The holding of such an important democratic exercise, involving all social sectors, will add responsibility to the justice bodies for compliance with legality”, Hélder Gróz has said.
Addressing an opening ceremony of the Judicial Year, chaired by the head of State, João Lourenço, in Huambo province, the Attorney General described the present time as challenging for National Justice, due to ongoing implementation of the new reality.
Among the challenges, he mentioned the approval of structuring legal Bills, the action of the new institutions and actors, such as the recent approvals of the Penal Codes and Criminal Procedure, in addition to implementation of the Courts of Appeal.
According to him, this time proves significant in terms of the implementation of a justice with which the society identifies and designed to meet the motto of this Judicial Year.
In order to achieve the fullness of justice, the Attorney General called for combined effort by various actors in the process of its implementation, amongst magistrates, lawyers and justice technicians.
