Lisbon - Parliaments of Angola and Portugal have addressed the new perspectives of cooperation during a meeting of the Angolan National Assembly (AN), Carolina Cerqueira, and her Portuguese counterpart, Augusto Santos e Silva.
During the meeting, held on Friday in Lisbon, they focused on deepening cooperation in the field of new technologies and concerting political agendas, suited to the dynamism of world geopolitics.
On the occasion, Carolina Cerqueira invited Augusto Santos Silva to attend the 147th General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union, which will take place in Luanda from the 23rd to 27th of October 2023.
At the meeting, which was also attended by ambassador Maria de Jesus Ferreira, Augusto Santos Silva congratulated Angola on the dynamism of parliamentary action in the advocacy of peace in Africa and highlighted the progresses and modernization of Angola’s National Assembly.
As part of her visit to Portugal, Carolina Cerqueira also participated, for two days, in various activities included in the program of commemorations of the International Day of Parliamentarianism, which included receptions offered by the mayors of Lisbon and Sintra, respectively, Carlos Coins and Basílio Horta.
