Luanda – The Fourth Parliamentary Activities of the ruling MPLA party take place on 25 - 29 April in the southern province of Huíla, with a focus on the concerns of the populations.
This information was released by the vice president of the MPLA Parliamentary Group Manuel da Cruz Neto on Friday in Luanda.
During a press conference, the MP said the event will feature topics such as the preparation for general elections.
It is expected to reflect on before and after the electoral period.
It will also focus on the price of the basic food basket and the Executive's actions on reduction of the products.
Implementation of the Integrated Programme for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) will also be addressed.
Manuel da Cruz Neto said on 25- 26 April, the Conferences will be dedicated to listening to the concerns of the population and maintaining contacts with the voters in the province’s 14 municipalities.
This is the last year of the current term and there are only a few weeks left before the announcement of the general elections, the politician stressed.
He said that MPLA Parliamentary Group MPs want to contact with opinion makers, traditional authorities and some civil society organisations, so that they can better understand citizens' expectations and anxieties.
He said that the Parliamentary Group is also concerned, at the moment, about the preparation of all legal instruments that allow the holding of the electoral process, as well as the post-election.
All MPs of the ruling MPLA party are expected to participate in the Parliamentary activities, noted its deputy leader.
In the last general elections, held in 2017, the MPLA obtained 61.70 percent of the total votes, which allowed it to reach 150 seats.
