Luanda - The Vice President of MPLA, Luísa Damião, Thursday in Luanda encouraged the government to take measures for macroeconomic balance and increase social gains for the population, to reduce the impact of the removal of fuel price subsidy.
Speaking at the opening of the 2nd methodological meeting that focused on the work of the party, Luísa Damião also urged the need to eliminate the controversy that still prevails in the pricing system.
According to her, “when prices do not objectively reflect market conditions, the economy cannot function efficiently, because these distortions cause investment levels to be below their potential”.
The Vice president of the ruling party revealed that MPLA will carry out an awareness campaign related to the benefits from the subsidy withdrawal in order to avoid misinformation and noise.
She said that the campaign aims to correctly explain to the people that more investments can be made in key sectors such as education, health, social security, housing, and in fighting unemployment.

On the occasion, the political leader recommended the implementation of actions that reinforce the empathy and interaction with the people, which she considered to be “the basis of the existence of the party".
To her, the MPLA needs to be up to events, putting into practice the motto "work more and communicate better", advocating unity, cohesion and creativity to better interpret the yearnings and aspirations, besides making the party structures more dynamic
Before an attentive audience, Luís Damião warned that factors of political perception tend to be manipulated by interest groups, by the power of the new media, and by the unethical conduct of some opponents.
She called for a greater capacity to interpret the facts and phenomena of everyday life, which rewards access to information and rigorous training with the aim to sustain the process of managing the party's work and making more consonant political decisions.
The Vice President of the MPLA said that the lessons learned show the need to plan well and define viable modes of action.
The second national methodological meeting on the work of the party, which ends on Saturday, brings together about 540 senior officials and leaders of the 18 provinces, members of the party’s Poliburo, the Central Committee and its parliamentary bench.
Themes such as the deepening of democracy and internal discipline, unity and loyalty to the leader and the party's commitment to the people are on the agenda for the three days event.
The agenda of the meeting also includes issues such as organization and insertion in society, information and propaganda, administration and finance, policy of cadres, political and electoral issues, reform of the state, public administration and municipalities, relevance of participatory democracy and also civil society.
