Uige - The Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado, exhorted, on Tuesday, in the city of Negage, Uíge Province, to greater responsibility and wisdom of Angolans in preserving the achievements achieved since the beginning of the national liberation struggle.

Francisco Pereira Furtado, who was speaking during the central act of the 64th anniversary celebrations of the beginning of the armed struggle of national liberation, stressed the social and economic gains reached since the proclamation of independence in 1975.

On the act, which took place under the motto 'Angola 50 years, preserving and valuing the achievements achieved, building a better future,' also said the preservation of public goods.

About the celebration, he said that the date imposes the need for a clear and unequivocal foray into the evolution of Angola's history, necessarily focusing on the struggle against colonial domination, the conquest of peace and the safeguarding of unity, sovereignty and of national reconstruction, as well as in the construction of the pillars for the development of the country.

He considered that these chronological dimensions serve as a mirror for the commemorative activities of the 50th anniversary of national independence, whose base frame requires a historical alignment in the celebrations.

For Francisco Pereira Furtado, who reaffirmed the executive's commitment to provide more health services and classrooms in different teaching subsystems, the government will continue to work on the materialization of actions for the country's social development.

To this end, it reaffirmed the executive's bet to combat organized crime, corruption, vandalization of public goods and other ills that can endanger the achievements already achieved in all domains.

'We exhort and appeal to all Angolans to stay firm in the victories already achieved, raise patriotic levels, defending Angola and Angolans, not being carried away by any fallacy, because the country is directed,' he concluded.

In turn, the provincial governor of Uige, José Carvalho da Rocha, asked Angolan families that, within the scope of national independence activities, the spirit of civic and patriotic attitudes, in order to ensure the well-being of the populations, to cultivate the spirit of attitudes. .

During reading the Message of the Angolan Federation of former Fatherland Combatants and Veterans, the Executive's efforts were recognized in improving the associates' social conditions, advocating more support to associates in order to meet current challenges.

The central act of the celebrations of the 64th anniversary of the beginning of the armed struggle of national liberation was attended by the Ministers of the Administration of Territory, Energy and Águas, Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca and João Batista Borges, respectively.

The Secretary of State for Geology and Mines, Jânio Correia Victor, were also attended by the Secretary of Defense and Security, the Vice-President of the MPLA, Mara Quiosa, as well as representatives of other parties with seat in Parliament.

Angola celebrates today, Tuesday, February 4, 64 years from the beginning of the armed struggle of national liberation, under the motto 'with the spirit of February, we work for stability, development and employment.'

The date of February 4 is spelled in the history of Angola as the milestone of the armed struggle that culminated with the proclamation of national independence, on November 11, 1975, ending the process of Portuguese occupation and colonization, which began in the fifteenth century.

It was at dawn on February 4, 1961 that Angolan nationalists, armed with cutlass and other white weapons, triggered a series of attacks on several chains to free political prisoners from the Portuguese colonial regime./Jar/ Doj
