Luanda - A message that addresses issues related to the transition process taking place in the Republic of Chad, was delivered Monday, in Luanda, to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The letter was sent by his counterpart from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Félix Tchissekedi, facilitator of the transition process in Chad, a Central African country that was involved in a political-military crisis that culminated in the death of its former president Idriss Deby Itno , in 2021.
Idriss Déby Itno, who was in power for 30 years, died from injuries suffered while commanding his army in the fight against rebels in the north of the country.
The minister of Regional Integration of the DRC, Didier Mazenga Mukanzu, delivered the message, who, as special envoy of the French statesman, was received by the Angolan Head of State.
Speaking to the press, Didier Mazenga Mukanzu reported that Chad is in a transition process that culminated in the holding of presidential elections last May, which is why Félix Tchissekedi sent the information to his counterpart.
Mhamat Idriss Déby Itno, 40 years old, who led the transition process, son of the former Chadian President, was the winner of the presidential elections, which took place in May.
Didier Mazenga Mukanzu explained that the transition process in Chad will be completed successfully this year, with the holding of legislative and local elections.
