Lisbon – At least five senior members of the Angolan justice sector, including judicial magistrates, public prosecutors and technicians, successfully completed an advanced training course for instructors held from July 1 to 12 in Lisbon (Portugal), obtaining an "excellent" rating.
According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Portugal that reached ANGOP, the participants in the training course included the Constitutional Court judge João Carlos Paulino and the deputy attorney general, Gâmboa.
The diploma award ceremony, presided over by Orlando Mascarenhas, director of the IPJCC, the institution that coordinated all the training, was attended by Carlos Pires, representing the European Commission in Portugal, and Henrique Assis, Minister Counselor at the Angolan Embassy, representing Ambassador Maria de Jesus Ferreira.
The course was sponsored by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (ONUDC), in partnership with the Angolan Attorney General's Office, and in coordination with national institutions relevant to the fight against money laundering.
The training was part of the PRO.REACT, an international program that aims to develop an effective system to combat illicit financial flows and support the recovery of assets.EJM/ART/CF/AMP
